Oh it’s already loads better, I’m actually physically getting things done, and I’m chatting with all my Chicken Friends again! So grateful to have everyone here… I’ve started really plugging away at the house again after a long break (mostly due to weather, and physical limitations… now I need to figure out where I left that darn note on the trusses!) so I expect to have some roof pictures to share soon!Wow Kris! That is a lot of things gone wrong! You a one tough lady! The stranded alone really got me
I hope this year is a wonderful one for you and your husband
Thank you for the update!

Chicken Tax: (this is too easy now!I should always keep 60-80 chicks in the living room just for tax purposes)View attachment 3106426
I know nothing about geese (other than the migratory wild ones), so not a clue.hmmmmm, no one wants to guess?
I think that’s what happened with Penguin, although she had Australorp in her and they can be prolific layers. She was only about 18 months old.The difficult part to wrap my mind around is that she only just turned 2 in February. She is not a high production breed and she gets a tumor. I am going to try to focus that she has lived those 2 years happy, never cooped up and got to eat snakes and fish and whatever else she chose to her hearts content. She never chose to be a momma, she has always had more important things to do. She does have 2 granddaughters and a great-granddaughter in Lilly to leave behind thanks to other broody girls and the incubator. I will miss her terribly as of the 2 original marans hens she has been my steadfast friendliest hen.
Hattie does not like walnuts. Everyone else does but not Hattie.I sat in the run for a while this afternoon. It's too hot for this time of year. The ladies made divots to lie in to cool off.
I have a container that I collect chicken treat stuff in. Banana peels, bits of greens, etc. One thing I thought they would LOVE is old maid popcorn kernels. Nope. Don't touch 'em. I thought they'd flip over corn, but I guess not.
Anyone have a treat that totally bombed?
