Good grief that is hot. Please do stay inside - that is dangerous heat.
I had to go outside and turn my yard into a water park for the chooks. I also put out some cold Greek yogurt for them. So far they are doing okay. Xzit wanted to stay with me inside the house. (Smart chook!)

Poor Lady Featherington, Gucci keeps 'walking' over her!!

Lady F: Really, Gucci, can't I have a few calgon moments, here?

Gucci: (she continues to walk over, then 'plop' down on L.F. ) But you are so soft and comfy, L.F.

L.F.: Dear Gucci, I appreciate you not stepping on me; however, as you can see, I'm an ample lady...could I please have just a tad more bathing space??

L.F. (after no response nor movement from Gucci) Oh, I see. I'll just turn over with my feet towards Glynda, then.

Glynda: (muttering to herself) I was here first...but now I have either LF's feathers in my face, or her feet whipping me. I'll show her, I'll just flip my dust bath dirt onto her. Maybe that will get me some space!

Meawhile, Gucci gets up and then settles back down, but this time right on top of/between G & LF)

Now all 3 shift, making a chicken triangle of sorts, each throwing their dirt up onto the others.

After a few more feeble attempts at dust-bathing, they all collapse into a panting puddle.

Glynda: You know, this dust bathing thing is hard work, especially in the heat.
Gucci: Tell me about it, you try it with a bum leg!
L.F. : True, but you know, I think I am rather enjoying this squished bathing experience! Much more bonding of an outing than I would have thought it; maybe commoner's have it right, after all!

With this thought in mind, they all start robust dust bathing again---SO robust that the camera man has to be careful of flying debris!!
Well played! :clap :clap :clap :gig:lau:gig:lau

My mum is going to try his peach brandy recipe- should be getting peaches in stores soon! I love fresh peaches, my peach trees have no fruit this year boohoo!
My peach trees have loads of fruit. The raccoons are standing by.
My nectarine tree has already been stripped bare.

Good afternoon everyone. I really appreciate all of everyone's prayers and concerns. It's funny how before the accident I was *toughing* out the show. After Rosie and Russ fell, I'm fine but my baby is hurt. After we got home we both died. She is very sore all over but it is tolerable. The long acting pain shot she got is keeping the edge off but she is high as a kite. She did not want the shot, but, I insisted. I know if she did not get it she would be constantly crying right now. I'm ok today, still a little sore but nothing like yesterday. Mom was in charge of my camera yesterday and she is not the best but I got a few good pictures and videos. I love this video, it was a few hours before the show started, Rosie is on Russ and her best friend is on her pacing pony. Look at them, there is nothing better then 2 best friends riding together. They were literally on the backs of their horses from 5 yesterday evening until the fall at 1:30 and laughing and smiling the whole time. As Rosie put it this morning it was a good show. She won 2 ribbons and a broken bone.
