On the NSAIDs they don't really know. NSAIDs impact immune response and there is some evidence that they reduce the body's natural immune response to fight COVID. But the data from mice has not been reliably replicated in people so I believe it is still a theoretical worry based on how these drugs impact the immune response.

Thank you on Lulu, I am still holding my breath.

And finally, don't worry about Koffee Klatch - I had no clue either and had to look it up - I thought it was rather a nice idea, but as I don't drink coffee I am always a bit lost on Wednesdays!
There have been studies on influenza and NSAIDS causing cardiovascular events. They say not to take ibuprofen aleve celebrex etc just in case. They propose that Covid also could act the same way.

Wednesday is an odd day for me too, I do drink tea but as I mostly work on Wednesday I don’t get many good chickie photos with me drinking tea.

You feeling any better? The air here is hot and dry (with poor quality) so I’m using my inhaler. :(

My little Coco, doesn’t want to be in the chickens room with the rest. She prefers to snuggle up to me at the moment.

I believe the ground rod works best if the soil around it is damp - how do you achieve that when it is underneath a building? I put mine near the wash out of the sump pump drain and I actually put in three of them I think!
I am going to have to retrain everyone on the fence - I have had it turned off for a month because it has been so dry I was worried about starting a fire - but I have noticed that the raccoons have figured out it is off and are stopping by at night to see if they can break in!
I really doubt you will start a fire. I've never heard of that frankly, not that I know much. Electric fences are used out west, they don't start fires do they? All the information about "fencers" (where did that word come from?) I've seen is all about grounding issues when it's dry, in terms of giving a good zap. Hmm.

Yes, the whole idea is to train the predators to respect the mere visual of the fence. So there is, theoretically, a certain grace period one might benefit from if the fence goes off power. But now you've got some doubting raccoons. :old Battle stations!

Ground rod(s) - is the number/length related to the power/joules you can generate? Your Energizer is five or ten joules? The one here is one.

Here, we actually have a ground moisture problem, the hillside we are on has several seeps, and the barn is over a small one. That's why we have the swale around it, and in fact brought that guy back before we continued with building to dig a drainage trench coming from under the barn middle to join it when two of the pole holes rapidly filled with water. The rod is on the north side too, barely inside the wall (single boards, uninsulated). The ground there is slightly damp pretty much all the time.
