Thank you again for your answer. I won't be able to use antibiotics without taking her to the vet, and I don't want to risk again the two hour drive to the clinic with an unwell hen.
Thanks for asking Kelly. She was doing a bit better yesterday, and this morning she is quite active, she just came sprinting out of the coop and under the laurel tree.
I ended up deciding to rinse her with saline twice a day for a week. If it doesn't help, I don't think it will do any harm. I'll continue giving her vitamins and high protein food daily -can't do harm.
It's been so much ups and downs, that I will wait until there is a very significant evolution one or way or the other to talk again about her.
