Having grown up with animals on the farm and chickens in our backyard I've noticed they gravitate to moving water like creeks, rain water, sprinklers, rather than still pools or water pans/bowls. Running water out of faucets, spigots, or hoses is also inviting.
Wild water is the best 😊♥️

It is official, this group of chicks are the hardest to take a decent picture of. I got 4 of the silkies. There were 2 more to go but I cannot wrangle any more chicks by myself tonight.

This one is the one I am thinking looks like a "Patsy"

View attachment 3909020View attachment 3909021View attachment 3909022View attachment 3909023This little one is also popping some pretty colors
View attachment 3909024View attachment 3909025View attachment 3909026View attachment 3909027View attachment 3909028This one is the biggest surprise of them all. This one folks, is Reba/Barbosa. My judgey big chipmunk chicks feathering is coming in black with just the tiniest hint of color on the wings. It did not want to stand still for just 2 seconds to have a picture taken. It has also been glaring at me since I put it back in the brooder. It is a very good thing looks cannot kill right now let me tell you.

Awwww I forget how wild they look when feathers are coming in 😝 mine have filled in their feathers well, of course now they are starting that first moult and don’t want to be touched or held.

Gosh I hope they are girls and I hope you get a gorgeous Roo like Branch ♥️

So frickin' cute!!! Silkies are the best for fun. Our Dominiques were little clowns too! Or maybe it's just that babies are so much fun to play with and see their emerging personalities!

And Silkies' final colors turned out so different from what we thought! It's a good thing the Silkie breeder knew what she was doing cuz we never would've guessed right! DNA-sexed chicks also helped us get just females.

Babies off the nest!

Very good mamas, making sure the chicklets were good!
The bigger chicks were yelling to the new babies too, I thought something was wrong but they were just trying to talk to them!
