just like any other miserable flu
It was wayyyyy worse than the flu for me. I had a fever of 104 with medicine, a heart rate of 250, couldn’t move, and was seeing a black cat with glasses and a hat that was talking to me. We do not have a talking cat of any kind. And it was on Christmas Day so that made it even worse

I got a fun ride in an ambulance though so it was worth it

Maybe you are just lucky 🍀
I thought it strange when we had our 1st Silkies, but each of the 4 groups we've owned were all that way ~ year-round moulters/layers/broodies. In fact, most customers have a hard time getting standard chicks until Spring season but two different times we were able to get baby Silkies in November & December cuz Silkies lay all odd times of the year.

Covid or any flu for that matter seems to hit people differently. My DH was over it in a few days but I was coughing for a month. Our younger friend died in the hospital but he was asthmatic & was ventilated in ICU immediately. Guess it depends on our individual immunity? I hit the bed immediately w/a bottle of water to sip & oxymetazoline spray to help breathe cuz it really hits the olfactory system hard.

I was so relieved to know our birds were ok!

Ambulance rides?! I had a ride to ER when I broke the arm & I prayed the old hack would stay together before it fell apart on the road!!! :fl

And no I am not actually happy
My DD & I had it in 2020 ~ just like any other miserable flu. The only difference is we couldn't smell or taste for about 3 months afterwards. It attacks the olfactory system. Bedrest for a week (no chores) & drinking plain water is good & you can't taste food at all so no appetite.

I was worried about our birds getting it but they apparently were immune to covid TG!

In 2020, I spent 10 days in the hospital, 6 in ICU, respiratory and renal failure. Yeah...WAY worse than the flu. Missed 7 weeks of work and wasn't back to normal for nearly a year. The one thing that didn't happen was loss of taste and smell.

But now, chickens.

I've missed soooo much. You guys talk lots! LOL!

I was afraid Sheba would set a bad example. I didn't expect it to be for Eenie or Meanie. But my only egg was under the roosts today.

Sheba still looks rough. I've been out of town. So never got the apron, but she has to have one. Poor baby.

One of my Reds is starting to look like a hen instead of a pullet. Her comb and wattles are reddening up.

The others not so much... but everyone are interested in the oyster shell...isn't that a thing?
