That is a great shot of piglet! We could design the perfect weather.
- one week a year of temperatures well below freezing to manage down pests
- each year just one 3-4 foot snowstorm for beauty and fun
- rest of year temps between 50-80 degrees
- rain 3-4 days a week between midnight and 4am
- wind never above 15mph
Fantasy weather tax: Piglet has her feathers back. She is turning pink in the face. Yesterday she looked in a nest box. This is timely as I am nearly out of eggs.

I agree the ticks last year and this past Fall were terrible! Truly was plagued with them.Honestly, as long as we do not loose power, and I can continue to have success with not having frost bite, I do not mind the weather.
We had a mild winter last year and this past summer we paid dearly for it.
Yellow Jackets, I cannot remember last time yellow jackets were so bad.
Ticks, omg ticks were terrible and were out early. Fleas were bad as well. Our cats and Ceecee are on flea and tick meds, which normally works great. This year it did not and for 2 months had a war on fleas with the cats.
I will also say the snow is beautiful. When I am not outside working in it that is.
That’s a whopping big egg! There was no egg in the nest box when I let the girls out this morning... Sybil was in the box but came out for breakfast. I waited a while and went back out to check on her. She was in the next box again, whining and grumbling. And no wonder! After 10 or 15 minutes of waiting and hanging out, I hear a heavy plop...

The carton won't even close all the way!![]()
That was truly a big egg. My Dakota lays super big eggs like that too. I don’t think that it’s good for her to be laying eggs so big. That’s a whopping big egg!
What breed is Sybil to lay such lovely eggs?
Missy would like for the weather to be consistently around 20C (68f) year round, so she can go out and catch squirrels. We could design the perfect weather.

She's just some kind of RSL. Maybe golden comet but I know they're all more or less the same thing. That’s a whopping big egg!

My Ash laid a couple double yolkers the first two or three months she laid. I think Kasumi laid at least one too. It's common for new layers to have at least one double yolker egg. She's just some kind of RSL. Maybe golden comet but I know they're all more or less the same thing.
I know, I feel bad for herI hope it doesn't become a regular thing. Especially at her young age. Hopefully it was just a fluke!
