Official Squatch Watchers

Good morning!
Wow what a freaking day I had yesterday, it was an absolute dog.
Firstly, saw the neighbors yard guys pulling trees down with a chain and a truck.
Normally I keep out of people's business but their chain was tiny and they were way too close to the action so I yelled "stay back from the chain".
Guys walked towards me and about that time chain popped whipped around and embedded in the wood side on the truck.
Had I not yelled someone would have gotten hurt.
I've seen a fella get his elbow turned backwards getting chained on the inside of a truck's cab because he had his arm out the window, its flipping dangerous.
And my MIL stopped by unannounced demanding her lawn be mowed and a trip to whole foods.
Neither one of those happened, although I offered to show her how home delivery worked and she downright refused.
I don't drive anymore, whole foods is way the fudge downtown and you couldn't pay me to get on the interstate to get there.
Lawn mowing is hubs forte, not mine and I don't really do demands.
Bright side, today Betty's toe is back to normal size.:)

😱 on the neighbors and mil

Glad Betty's toe is better

Good morning all. Supposed to be the last sauna day

Good morning everyone. :frow

I felled the corn.....it was almost 10' tall so counts as felling I think.
No chain was involved.

I will be taking out a lot of the garden. Going forward I just won't have the time to deal with it.
:frow Good morning Henny, have a great day

Good morning Chicky 😊 hope today is better for you, demands don't go well here either, lucky for us nobody ever comes around 🙄.
Jeeze! I bet you felt like Paul Bunyan chopping that corn.🤣

I'm numb to the Mil anymore, she's completely flat lined my aggravation response.
Neighbors yard guys honestly should have been dead long ago, they take chances all the time.
I think it is because they're immigrants and they don't want to cross him and lose their jobs, they also work for him at his scrap yard so if he's unhappy they're fairly boned.

Everybody out there besides Hobo. Ethel and Dutch have tons of extra toes.
Irene has one teeny tiny foot and a normal one.
I've had to excel in chicken podiatry :gig
Good morning everyone.

I"m among heroes. Ones that save lives, and ones that save chicken toes. I'm honored.

I just got out of the shower. Got rid of the vinegar smell. What I have not said, is that 7 days ago, on my inner thigh partway between the front and back, just below the fold where the leg ties into the trunk, I got what seemed to be a boil. It's a hard place to see, so I felt, and squeezed. Gunk came out, but not the core. I covered it with a bandaid, and waited 2 days for it to fester, so I could get the core out, and be done with it.

Looking back, I did a LOT of sleeping those two days, and more than once I woke up feeling extra warm, but didn't really think much of it. Not enough to take my temp.

After the 2 days, on Sunday, it was really sore, with a lot of pressure, so I headed to the bathroom to squeeze, and get the core out. I barely touched it, and all kinds of gunk began coming out. I got my hand mirror to look. It was the size of a golf ball, and the whole top was festered. I didn't see any streaks indicating blood poisoning. I got it squeezed out, and flushed it multiple times with peroxide, then loaded it with triple antibiotic, without covering it. It was bad enough I was contemplating going to my doctor, but it was Sunday, so not open, and it felt so much better after I got it cleaned out, I decided I'd keep treating it, see how it was doing on Monday, and go from there.

When Dd #1 came in from the store, I had her look at it. She too thought I should go to my doctor, but agreed that as long as there was improvement, and no blood poisoning, it could wait until Monday. She used my camera, and took a couple close up pictures of it. In the pictures, we could see what appeared to be two places that could be fang/bite marks from a spider, or insect. Closer inspection of my leg, confirmed the possible bite marks. Even Dh agreed I might want to go to the doctor, if it was not better by morning.

The next morning, I squeezed, and there was no gunk. I flushed it with peroxide. It was significantly better, but there seemed to be a good bit of necrosis on the outer skin. Insect bites typically can do that. I took a small dose cup, put 1/4 part clorox, to 3/4 parts water, and held the dose cup to the wound, and cleaned the wound with it. It foamed some, which confirmed it was neutralizing the poisons from an insect/spider bite. I did that two times that day. The next day, everything looked sooooo much better. Yesterday, I began using Betadine on it. It's continuing to improve.

The problem is, where it's located. Wearing pants, it chafes at times undoing the healing, and scabbing. I have been wearing tank maxi dresses, to help with that, doing a LOT of lazing around, and walking a bit spread eagle whenever I absolutely have to walk. When I sleep, I have to be careful that when I'm on my side, that I don't put my other leg over it. That too softens the scabbing, then when I move my leg, it pulls it off. Still, it's not really painful, and it's continuing to improve, and heal. It's good enough now, I'm doing a bit more walking, but not overdoing it, so I don't undo the healing. A few more days with the way it's improving, and hopefully I'll be able to resume most of my normal duties.

Now you know why going to the feed store the other day, and getting out to clean out the IBC tote was such a big deal to me.
Ouch! Im glad its getting better.
