It’s an ibis. Someone wrote a kids’ book about an ibis and called it “Bin Chicken”, I had to get it for my nephew!

The bird on the car port roof can't be an Ibis, the beak is straight. Ibis all have curved beaks. If it were North America my first guess would be Great Blue Heron. I have no idea about the variants there in Australia.

My Foe

The following spoiler shows my rodent enemy enjoying a beautiful sunny day running around in the run. It is very intrigued by the bait but has not yet gone in to eat. I have the camera set so I have documentation that it has taken the bait. If it has not by next week, we will add additional methods.

We could close Scooby in the run for the night. That should take care of it!!🤣🤣🤣

My best bet was a Blue Crane ~ which is a type of heron ~ but in all honesty the picture combined with my eyesight isn't good enough for me to make a positive id.

Isn't he still on the mend? Or was that an ancient post? (I've been trying to read this thread from the beginning!) Didn't he have a gum injury? Poor Scooby, his services are needed everywhere! Is there no rest for the weary? So many rodents and so few real rodenteers....Plus it looks like his ear's been docked somehow too...Let this soldier rest on the laundry, he's earned it! :love

Yup that picture is fuzzy, and I just looked Blue Crane up - technically known as a White-Faced Heron, yes, it does look like that!
