I’ve been studying up on Cochins. Their temperament, what they need to thrive, different colors, etc.
I’m realizing that Sir Jaffar is not the usual Cochin. And that possibility, he isn’t even a chicken.
Could he be a feathered puppy or something similar?

And it won't let me quote today. I'll try to catch up later. But I have a question I need the answer to before tonight if anyone is willing to offer an opinion.

Meanie spent last night, all night, under the feeders on the cold coop floor, apparently.

Should we maybe move Tres to the small coop for a couple days? Or am I still overreacting?

I want happy hens darnit... no matter the pecking order.

Well truth be told Bay is my favourite colour - easy to keep clean yes Truly is a handful, she has had me off once when she was still green but only once! Lulu hates ring work, and Reenie gets it into her head she is still at the track. Each one is handled differently

Just like our chooks, each has to be handled in their own way. Mr P, now he is very hands off, but Fluffy and Curly are very much in your face wanting treats.

Ah, bays are amazing. Very underrated. People like “fancy” colors like dapples and paints, but they forget about bays.
Now, I’m not one to speak because I do love a good paint or appaloosa, but bays are stunning too.
If I ever get a horse when I’m older, you won’t be seeing me with a grey! Ugh! Whenever I had to bathe Lenny to get ready for a show, I had to scrub him for HOURS! Before and after, because he rolls after baths.
We have a couple of the track horses. I’ve never ridden them, but I’ve heard that they can be difficult. I do love getting to know animals personalities.
Today I am going to the barn again to say goodbye to Lenny. My instructor is going to let me ride him one last time, which I think is very nice, and she doesn’t have to do that. I found out where he is moving. I’m not going to say the exact place, just for safety, but he is going to be about 2 1/2 hours away from my house. I doubt I’ll ever visit him though.

Splotch and BBQ will be right on me for food, but I dare move an inch to pet them, they will jump and run away. BBQ has been a bit sweeter though lately, I was able to tickle her crop area yesterday.

I love Mr. P! He is so cute! I can’t stand it! He and Phyllis are the reason I wanted Polishes! I wanted blue eyes or buff laced ones more than the W.C. Black ones, but they were the only ones available, so I got them. Well, my dad is the one who saw the W.C. Black Polishes and pointed them out to me.

I think rather than moving anyone I would be inclined to try and make her more comfy. Could you put down some cardboard to insulate the floor in that area? Add some bedding? Maybe even a small block of 2x4 on the floor like a mini-roost?

That blue hen is Storm. I just watched her make Pear back off. As she's no longer brooding babies, I'm thinking she might have taken the top spot in spite of raising babies when Silver passed. I need to watch her with PITA as P is a spit fire. I had been thinking Pear (oldest) had taken the top spot, but now I'm not so sure. Now that most are at least in the latter phases of moulting and no one is broody, I need to watch for a while.

You may NOT have either Storm or Whiskey. Whiskey is a gentle, wounded hen hovering roo, and worth his weight in gold. I would be willing to let you have some eggs.

And you could make it easier for them all to change the channels on the wide screen TV . Get more chicken friendly remote controls!
