Also today we let our chickens free range in our yard for the whole morning and half the afternoon. Runner still seems a little "worn out", but still much more lively. She will still run when I try to catch. Do you think that maybe she is just not as lively as before because we moved them into a much smaller place?

Just look at that fabulous tail! What breed is she?
She's a black Japanese bantam. I have a splash, a black tailed white & a birchen as well. They are gorgeous little chickens; true bantams, & have lovely dispositions.

Her house is literally about a dozen steps to the sea 🏖️😍 she posts amazing views on her thread and her chooks wake up to a sea view every morning.
It's true the chooks wake up to a sea view but the beach is @ the bottom of a really steep hill & more mud & mangrove than rather coarse sand but it is all ours, very seculded & quiet.

I usually pipe up and say the beach is only 5 minutes walk from my house, but that doesn't carry much appeal in a discussion @Ribh might see :gig
:plbb You do remember we are more mud & mangrove than actual sand? 🤣

Oh Peanut :hugs
I like the yogurt ball approach you've mentioned. Will make a batch this weekend (low on Fage here...)
I forgot to list the calcium and D3 that's in the yogurt balls: two level teaspoons of ground up calcium citrate and D3 and calcium carbonate. It's a total of about 2200 mgs of calcium total. Divided by four chickens if they ate equally that's 550 mgs of calcium each.
