Got it. I think Marie wants to hang hers and I thought you had converted one to hanging. I tried doing so and failed because even a tiny bit off and it dribbles out.

If it won't hang or sit level, put the opening on the DOWNHILL side. Once the opening is below the waterline, no more water will come out. If it's on the uphill side, it will never be below the waterline, so it will continue to run over.

Oh, and it's snowing.

Grandma's feet are getting cold. Not to mention, it was hard to take a photo of her standing in the snow when she keeps moving her head around.

Footprints? Let's just say the snow was too soft and the snow was too thick. Should've done it in thin snow but I didn't get the chance.

It’s not particularly cold but that east wind is raw and I was happy to warm up after loading the truck at the farmers place.

I am going to bring horses in early and head to the house warm up with a cuppa hot tea and rest my tendinitis in my right elbow.

And I have no idea what on earth happened to poor Flopsy - and I think her beak has a crack on one side. It looked Ms like she has had a nose bleed! And she has a scrape on her comb.

I think if you measured where the opposite side twine is attached it should hang well.

I don’t hang mine but I do many times put the waterer up on brick pavers to keep it off the floor. I don’t really have a place to hang mine.

And n the crate when I have chicks I put the chick waterer up on a block of 2x4 so mama doesn’t kick shavings into the water.

Well Mr P is ok, I took a close look and it’s just the bad girls picking his feathers.

Ms Flopsy is another deal, not sure what’s up there, later I will take a closer look at her left side of her beak. She is eating and pecking at stuff so I guess she is ok.

Yes white chooks really show blood- and it always looks awful! Same with my white horses!

It’s just the bale string - I don’t hang mine up, I use it for carrying them, but it would be easy to just tilt it till was level of hanging on a hook.

I had issues carrying them and got fed up getting wet hands so I did that.

I also did it with the small chick waterer. But I cut the string off incase a chick got stuck in it. I should redo it I hate tipping it and getting my hands wet.

How would you have to carry it and get wet hands? Is it more secure to carry it by the base? If you carried it by the jug, would the bottom slip off?
