Official BYC Article Writing Contest - #15
Contest End Date: March 22nd, 2022 at 11:59 pm Pacific Time

Short Version:
Write a great article and you could win a great prize & have your article featured on the homepage of BYC!

Detailed Version:
We are constantly amazed at how knowledgeable and helpful our community members are! The BYC forum provides a wonderful opportunity for members to post questions and reply with answers. Unfortunately, a lot of really amazing information can get lost in the super activity on the forum.

Over the years we’ve received a ton of requests to add more articles & FAQ’s to our Learning Center. Our BYC Coop Page Contests have been super successful and now we have over 3000 chicken coop articles in our Chicken Coops section! Hopefully, we can have similar success with this BYC Article Contest!!

This contest is not for coop articles. If you have a coop article, please enter the coop article contest here.

Utilizing the Parrot Chop Principle to Improve Chicken Diets

Let me begin by saying I am NOT in favor of forgoing a commercial chicken feed for my girls. My new article. The idea just popped into my head while sitting on the lounge/couch reading. And then I thought "Hey, there is this new article writing contest!"
Sorry if it's a bit short, I didn't think people would need to have a great long dirty- pun not intended- article about dust bathing.

Why Do Chickens Dust Bathe?

Why Do Chickens Dust Bathe?

Chickens are strange beings, but what makes them even stranger is that they roll around in dust. Why on earth would they do that? Surely that would just get them dirtier? Wrong. Why Do Chickens Dust Bathe? Chickens are at risk from lice and mites. They can get lice/mites from wild birds and...
(Hopefully this works, I've never shared an article like this :fl)

Thank you! I had been thinking about it; also considering an article "How to Train Your Dog to Guard Your Poultry". Probably just needed the encouragement you just gave. Deadline for this contest is March 15, so I may need to wait for the next contest.

There are some really good entrants here, as there were in contest #14. (Before that I wasn't following the contests.) Good luck everyone!
That would be awesome! I look forward to reading whatever you decide to write about 💜 If I'm completely honest, the dog training article is one that I am super excited about. That's something that so many people would find helpful, including myself! Such a phenomenal idea!
