Happy Monday everyone. Here is a mugshot from my crazy wild gobbler. She has a thing for this camera - I think she must be able to see her reflection in the lens. She has spent hours preening in front of it.

Rain is great, maybe so great when it comes from the forms of towering clouds with electricity coming out of them?!

Monday mugs, Liara.

Mommas on the nest. They were confused earlier and followed Ash to the other nest box. The eggies were still warm so I popped them back in, put in a bowl of scrambled eggs and a bowl of cool water, then shut the door.

Silly Asher, she always has to get in everything.

In the background you can see the in-run brooder my dad and I made.

Just a little thing to keep babies seperate from adults but they can see each other. The door can be propped to allow babies in and out but keep adult birds away.

Here it is fully open, plenty of space to get inside to set it up.
The boards inside will have food and water dishes on top.
The cave is going to be where the brooder plate goes, probably on a piece of plastic to keep it from sinking into the dirt.

Taking the tour, this will be great for growing out.
Told hubby after the tropical storm rolls past we can move the polishes out and he said "leave them in the house at least til next Sunday. They're too little still and the kid likes to talk to them" he said as he was cuddling one...he's smitten.
And finally

"Peepy" and "cheepy" got some scrambled egg. Hubby says he hopes one is a roo because he wants a polish roo named Ric Flair.
He said "we can keep a cochin roo and a polish roo right? I need a Ric Flair and we need meat birds too...they can each have a coop right?"
So we might just keep cochin hens and a polish roo because our run holds up to 21 birds and each coop can hold 8 or 9 max. I don't see two roos working out with our current setup.

Don't be surprised if we end up with a second setup at this rate He's fallen for chicken math too!
